What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. When you build a recipient profile or run a gift quiz — for yourself, someone else, or a shared Huddle — we collect whatever you enter: interests, occasion details, budget, free-text notes, and (for Huddles) the display name and answers of anyone who joins via a join code. If you organise a Huddle and add payout details (a PayID, or a bank BSB and account number), those are stored so they can be shown to contributors — see "Payout details" below for how that's handled.
How we use it
Quiz answers are used to generate gift recommendations, including by sending relevant details (interests, budget, occasion — never your name, email, or payout details) to third-party AI and search providers we use to power that matching: Google (Gemini), Tavily, and Anthropic (Claude). Account details are used to let you sign in and manage your recipients and Huddles. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Payout details are display-only
Huddle never processes, holds, or moves money. If you're an organiser, the PayID or bank details you add are shown only to people who've pitched in to your Huddle, so they know where to send their contribution directly to you. We don't verify these details, don't confirm transfers, and have no visibility into your actual bank account. See our Terms of Service for more on how the payment model works.
Affiliate links
Some product links on Huddle are affiliate links (via Skimlinks) — if you click through and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This doesn't affect which products are recommended to you; matching is based on your quiz answers, not commission rates.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account, recipient profiles, and Huddle data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your data deleted, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it, other than what we're required to retain for legitimate record-keeping.
